Kids & Dogs Working Together to Read

There are many libraries offering successful programs for kids in which dogs are brought to the library to have children read to them! The opportunity is great for kids who may struggle to read – the program is great to help reading as a non-judgmental, relaxed setting. The dog-to-kid interaction is amazing, and there has only been positive feedback with the program.
Moreover, if a child may be stressed as they have a difficult time reading, the genuine presence and love from a dog is unconditional. The kids actually prove that they enjoy reading even more when dogs are involved! How to Get Involved Whether you’re a proud mother or father of a child and/or dog, Scottsdale BARK recommends further researching the opportunity at your local library.
Furthermore, Scottsdale BARK will absolutely welcome the opportunity to be a reference, so please contact us for additional information. The program is a great way to network with other families, in addition to local schools and libraries. Maricopa County alone has hundreds of schools, so there’s much opportunity to get involved with a program such as this!
